There is a significant difference between content editing and copy editing. Content editing is done by a subject specialist who focuses on the sense of the subject matter, as opposed to technical details such as punctuation, spelling, grammatical correctness.
Copy editing therefore refers to proofreading, where the common spelling, grammar and punctuation errors are rectified without changing the meaning of the original text.
